We would like to take this moment to thank you all for making our building experience a stress free and memorable time in our life. As a doctor one of my goals was to open my own practice and later build a facility for future growth. Knowing this process was going to be time consuming and difficult financially. It was important to select a construction firm that was honest, responsive and kept cost down. We could not be happier with choosing Powers & Associates to be the construction company to finally help make our goal a reality. The entire team at Powers & Associates where extremely professional and helpful during this process. While keeping quality as the main objective the contractors where able to complete the project in a timely manner which allowed us to continue our daily responsibilities with no worry.

An expansion to my veterinary practice was the 4th time I have worked with construction contractors, but my first experience with Powers & Associates. My experience was nothing less than stellar. From planning to execution, the individuals I worked with were responsive, prompt, and forthright. My site supervisor was diligent and knowledgeable. Coordination of subcontractors was excellent, and the quality of those subcontractors was excellent. Our job was unusual in that Powers had to find a way to keep us functioning as a business while building onto the front of our building and tearing out our lobby. It was not a small task. This project reinforced to me that the way you can separate good companies from great ones is how they respond when something goes wrong. In our case, it was a long run of bad weather early in the project. On multiple occasions, Powers personnel went above and beyond to remedy situations that arose before we were dried in. One memorable Sunday night, the president of the company was on my site with a squeegee in his hands, and the site supervisor was on a ladder in the rain setting up extra waterproofing. I didn’t ask for these men to come- they found out that there was a problem, and their default setting is “fix it”. The expansion worked out beautifully, and our clients are impressed. Thanks in particular to Mr. Crowder, Mr. Murphy, and Mr. Powers. Because of their efforts, I can wholeheartedly recommend Powers & Associates.

Powers & Associates had previously done extensive renovation work on another building we own. So we were already familiar with their level of craftsmanship; yet this renovated space still turned out better than we imagined. There were other projects in the area that dragged on due to covid and supply chain issues. However, P&A were able to finish on time. Cliff and Lec really went above and beyond. They delivered an A-class anchor property that harkens back to its origins while gracefully taking its place in the new century and in the center of Homewood’s shopping and entertainment district. There was nothing easy about the attention to detail, history, and our requests. However, P&A really delivered an extraordinary renovation that will be enjoyed for decades to come.

Powers & Associates has by far been the best commercial contractor we have ever worked with in Alabama. It’s hard to believe that our first project together was over 13 years ago in Pelham. How time flies. Since that first project I count that you have managed at least 25 different construction projects for Cellular Sales, in both Alabama and Florida, with each project being completed either on-time or with time to spare and regardless of the size of the project. I can’t possibly thank you enough for managing our new store builds, our complete store remodels, and for working so closely with my team. I’m still amazed that you can remodel our stores without us having to close our doors for even a few minutes. You’ve never let us down and your team always delivers the best results possible. We are very pleased with the completed renovation of the Homewood Theater building. We appreciate all the historical research P&A did while working on our building. Their research answered questions we had about the history of the previous renovations (1920’s, 1940’s, and 1960’s) before we purchased the property. The way they were able to include historical items found in the building, addiing historical theater seats, historical movie projector and Homewood Theater Sign, to the platform above the door, into the finished project was an added asset to this historical property. From our first meeting with Cliff and Michele, until the final walk through, it was a pleasant relationship with P&A, their craftsmen and subs. We felt like we were in goods hands all through the renovation process. The whole process was like working with good friends. The finished project looks better than we could have imagined. The space was unrecognizable. The time frame for the renovation was better than expected. These last few years have been difficult for all businesses because of product availability and shipping issues (due to covid). However, P&A was able to finish on time. All of your workmanship is excellent. The lighting ideas you were able to put in place are exceptional, stylish, and modern. Who would have known you found them hidden in the ceiling from the 1920’s and able to restore them to their present beauty.
