TEC Huntsville – New Campus

Powers & Associates provided Design-Build services to Tractor & Equipment Company for their new location in Huntsville, AL. This new 32K SF facility includes a mechanic shop, parts warehouses, retail showroom, and office areas. The mechanic shop has 10 bays with large overhead coiling doors, a pair of 10-ton bridge cranes, and continuous wall lights that span both sides. There is also a stand-alone 4K SF wash facility with a patented water recycling system to keep trucks and equipment looking fresh. The 8.5-acre site includes over 75K SF of 8″ thick concrete paving with 3 large circular display pads and a detached bi-level loading dock. The most interesting aspect of this project is how we were able to modify an existing 12K SF metal building to allow for the new design loads of a larger building. This forced some tight tolerances with respect to setbacks, floor elevation, and drainage.
