Regions Bank – Bluestone Patio

Powers & Associates provided Design-Build services to Regions Bank/CBRE for new site improvements at their operations facility located in Hoover, AL. We completed this bluestone patio replacement for @regionsbank at their Riverchase Operations Center back in November. Their existing patio did not have adequate slope to allow it to drain properly, there were too many expansion (caulk) joints at the surface, and most of the stone tiles were coming loose around the edges. So we did a full demo/replacement and added some upgrades to go along with it. The new design was pretty intricate with new seating areas (a lot of radiuses), but the demolition was the bulk of the project. This included removing the existing stones, mortar bed, and VERY thick concrete slab. Once we got back down to subgrade, we regraded the entire area, installed the new concrete curb/slab, and finally the new bluestone. We also added new lighted bollards, a new yard inlet, new sod, and an array of new shrubs. This was a very unique project that came with some extremely adverse site conditions, but we muscled through and it turned out great!
